This is a unique day trip aboard a motor-assisted raft which allows the visitor to leisurely enjoy and share in the history, desert wildlife and beauty in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River.

We will arrange round trip transportation from various Las Vegas hotels. You will then be transported on a tour bus to the launch area at the base of the Hoover Dam. This is an extremely rare view of the Hoover Dam that very few people have the opportunity to see. At this time, you will board a large comfortable raft which has been carefully constructed with your party's safety in mind. They have multiple air chambers and are outfitted with all of the Coast Guard required and recommended safety equipment.

During this relaxing 11 mile river trip, an experienced and knowledgeable guide will share with you the history of this magnificent geological area. The high canyon walls will leave you breathless. Be prepared to see Desert Big Horn Sheep, Osprey, and Great Blue Heron in their natural setting. Bring your camera and plenty of film, because it is seldom you will have an opportunity such as this to view the wonders of nature.

The raft will stop along the shore to give you a chance to swim or play in the cool clear waters below Hoover Dam. You might take this opportunity to enjoy the box lunch provided while watching and listening to the sights and sounds of this magnificent desert.

Your trip will end on the Arizona side of the river at Willow Beach. Here you will have the chance to shop for distinctive remembrances of your trip before boarding a comfortable tour bus for the return trip over the crest of the Hoover Dam to the rafting office and then on to your Las Vegas hotel.

Q: Is this a difficult and dangerous white water raft trip?
A: No. This is a motor-assisted float trip. The large custom rafts were built with your safety and comfort in mind.

Q: Do I need to bring lunch?
A: No. An individual box lunch for each passenger is provided. The lunch is in a unique insulated container that is yours to keep as a souvenir. The lunch includes a turkey sandwich, fruit, cookies, chips, and bottled water. If you have special diet requirements, we can accommodate you, just let us know in advance. The rafts also carry extra water onboard.

Q: How long does the trip take?
A: You will be at the staging area by 9:30 am. You will be on the water for about three hours. You should arrive back at the meeting area by about 3:00 pm and then depart to your Las Vegas Hotel.

Q: How many passengers are on a raft?
A: It depends. Four sizes of rafts are available. We try to match raft size to the number of passengers. The standard raft size is 40 passengers. All the rafts have plenty of room for passengers. You will not be over-crowded.

Q: What should I wear and bring?
A: You should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Though this is a float trip, you may get wet from splashes or spray. Also, you may want to wade or swim during the shore break. You should wear a hat, since you will be in the sun, and bring sunscreen.

Q: Will we be able to stop and swim during the tour?
A: If time allows, there will be breaks to give you time to swim in the Colorado River. If you would like, you can wear your swimming suit under your clothes just in case.

Q: Should I bring my camera? Are there any good photo opportunities?
A: Yes. This is one of the most scenic parts of the recreation area. You will start by seeing the "back side" of Hoover Dam, an area restricted to most visitors.

Q: How far is Willow Beach from Las Vegas?
A: Willow Beach is less than fifty miles from the Las Vegas Strip. It will take about one hour to drive to Willow Beach, unless you stop at Hoover Dam, which is on the way.

A: The store carries groceries, snacks, cold drinks, boating & camping supplies, fishing tackle and bait, clothing, gifts, souvenirs, film, cameras, and ice.
